7000 QC – a new approach to banknote quality inspection
Norges Bank was in the process of issuing the 8th banknote series of Norwegian Kroner and wanted to upgrade their cash processing operation ready for this. As well as providing the Bank with the newest generation of the 7000 high speed sorting machine, Norges Bank is the first central bank to adopt 7000 QC, (quality control), a brand new solution from CPS, a complementary approach to inspection at the printworks, giving them more control over the quality of their new banknotes, independent from their printer.

"CPS is a critical partner to our business. Their ECM™ BI software and sorting machines, supported by a service and maintenance programme makes up our fully integrated solution, which has enabled us to increase throughput and efficiency."
"The 7000™ QC is used in our inspection of new banknotes in addition to the inspection and analysis of the quality of banknotes in circulation and in quality verification and destruction of unfit banknotes. This combination is cost effective for us and gives us good flexibility, and we are overall very satisfied with the solution."
